WHO WE ARE
We are a registered charity located in the Blackdown Hills, on the Somerset/Devon border. We have a network of volunteers across the area offering various services to local people. Our volunteers are co-ordinated by a small team of admin staff based at offices within the Blackdown Practice.

WHO WE HELP
We help people of all ages in the Blackdown Hills who are finding life difficult – because they are experiencing physical or mental ill health, disability or the effects of old age, suffering from loss or simply struggling to cope.
WHAT KIND OF HELP IS AVAILABLE?
We are able to offer the following:
- Low cost transport – for those who are unable to drive
- Social clubs – to help you meet and spend time with friends
- Befriending – someone to visit and spend time with you at home
- Mentoring – if you are feeling low and struggling to cope
- Advocacy – if you have money worries or need help filling in forms
- Support for carers – if you are looking after someone else
- Bereavement support – if you have lost someone
- Advice about other services
- Disabled Access Vehicle – available to hire
- Short term wheelchair loan
- Footcare
HOW CAN YOU HELP US?
We could not operate without our volunteers who offer their time to help others. Please get in touch if you are interested in finding out more, we have a wide range of roles available to suit everyone, however much or little time you have. Call us to discuss our current volunteering opportunities.
HOW CAN I GET HELP?
Your GP or other medical professional can refer you or you can refer yourself, a family member or friend as long as you have permission to do so from the person who needs help. Contact us on:
